A grader is a high-speed, high-efficiency, high-precision, and multi-purpose earthmoving machine. It can perform tasks such as leveling large areas of land, digging ditches, slope scraping, bulldozing, snow removal, loosening, compaction, material placement, mixing, loading assistance, and land reclamation in important highway construction sites and farmland. It is an important piece of equipment in national defense projects, mining construction, road construction, water conservancy projects, and farmland improvement. The roadbed, the foundation of the road surface, is a crucial component of highway engineering. Bearing the traffic loads transmitted from the road surface, the roadbed is the supporting structure and must possess sufficient strength, stability, and durability. Depending on the terrain, highway roadbeds generally take the form of embankments or cuttings.
Furthermore, graders are also used in international peacekeeping and humanitarian engineering projects. In March 2026, the 16th Chinese peacekeeping engineering contingent to South Sudan (Wau) used graders in conjunction with bulldozers and road rollers to reinforce the roadbed, level the road surface, and repair drainage ditches during a mission to repair the main supply line from Kovachok to Turare to Abianhon, restoring road traffic capacity.
In the international trade arena, domestically produced graders, as one of the representative products of "Made in China," are continuously expanding into the international market. In recent years, the scale of domestically produced engineering vehicles (including graders) shipped from Xiamen Port has shown an overall upward trend, demonstrating strong international competitiveness. Relevant maritime departments have also provided guarantees for their convenient export by optimizing supervision and services.
