Hydraulic oil maintenance for graders

In graders, the clearances and working surfaces between various pumps and valves are relatively small. Hydraulic components also contain numerous damping orifices and slit-type control valve ports. If contaminants enter the hydraulic fluid, blockages can occur, potentially scratching the mating surfaces, increasing leakage, or even jamming the valve core, causing component malfunction. Therefore, maintaining hydraulic fluid cleanliness is crucial for hydraulic system maintenance.

Hydraulic oil must undergo rigorous filtration. When adding oil to the hydraulic tank, it should be passed through a filter with a mesh size of at least 120 mesh.

Regularly check the cleanliness of the hydraulic fluid and change it periodically according to operating conditions. When changing the fluid, drain approximately 40L of oil from the hydraulic system. Using external system circulation is a relatively easy method. The procedure involves first draining the waste oil from the tank and radiator, then adding new oil. Disconnect the return line to the tank, start the engine, and allow the waste oil to flow completely out of the return line. It is particularly important to regularly observe the oil level in the tank and ensure it remains at a safe level. When changing to new oil, the filter element should also be replaced.

Hydraulic components should not be disassembled easily. If disassembly is necessary, the parts should be cleaned with kerosene or diesel oil and placed in a clean place to prevent impurities from being introduced during reassembly.
