Box Truck Enclosed Cargo Box Welding Craft Analysis

The welding craft of the enclosed cargo box for box trucks directly determines structural strength, sealing performance and service life, and it is a key indicator inspected by overseas buyers when purchasing box trucks exported to Africa. The enclosed box endures long-distance vibration, cargo impact, rain and sand erosion. Poor welding quality easily leads to cracked weld seams, water leakage and dust penetration, which will damage packaged goods inside the compartment. Understanding the welding craft of box truck enclosed cargo box helps buyers evaluate box truck quality and avoid low-quality vehicles.https://www.hjtrailer.com/truck/box-truck/white-4-2m-box-light-truck.html

The enclosed cargo box of HOWO box truck adopts high-strength wear-resistant steel plate as the main material. Before welding, steel plates are preprocessed to remove rust, oil and burrs on the surface, ensuring good fusion of weld seams and preventing welding defects caused by impurities. The plates are cut by precise CNC cutting technology to guarantee smooth cutting edges and uniform splicing gaps for welding.

Box welding mainly includes three procedures: plate splicing welding, frame reinforcement welding and corner sealing welding. Continuous full welding is applied at plate joints. Compared with spot welding, continuous full welding delivers higher overall strength and better dustproof & rainproof sealing, keeping rain and dust out of the cargo compartment. Reinforced welding is added on load-bearing frames including box posts, top beams and bottom cross members. Extra weld beads at stress points disperse impact force from heavy-load transport and prevent weld tearing caused by long-distance bumpy rides. The four corners of the box are stress-concentrated and prone to cracking. We use reinforcing angle plates combined with continuous sealing welding to strengthen corner structure and seal gaps against water and dust leakage.

After welding, post-weld treatment is required. Weld slag and weld beads are polished away to remove sharp protrusions that may scratch cargo packaging. Visual inspection is carried out to check every weld seam for pores, cracks and cold solder joints. After passing inspection, anti-rust primer and topcoat are sprayed to protect weld seams from corrosion in humid outdoor conditions and extend the service life of this HOWO box truck.

Box cargo trucks manufactured in our own factory follow strict welding standards. Customization of box dimension and plate thickness is available, and RHD conversion is supported to fit long-distance freight conditions in Africa. Before shipment, every 6×4 box cargo truck will pass water spraying sealing test and strength inspection of enclosed cargo box. If you plan to buy box trucks exported to Africa and evaluate cargo box quality, welding craft is an essential factor you cannot ignore.
