Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) are widely used in various equipment in the lifting industry. Compared with traditional controllers, they have the following advantages:

(1) powerful functions and high cost performance;

(2) complete hardware support, convenient user operation, and strong adaptability;

(3) high reliability and strong anti-interference ability;

(4) less workload in system design, installation, and debugging;

(5) less maintenance workload and convenient maintenance;

(6) small size and low energy consumption.

Application Characteristics: Depending on the product type and tonnage, a single lifting device may be equipped with 1-4 PLCs. Large, medium, and small PLCs are used in the lifting industry. Large equipment such as quay cranes and gantry cranes have thousands of control points, while ordinary cranes mainly use small PLCs.

Industry Requirements: The lifting industry has high requirements for the anti-interference ability of PLC network components. Salt spray and dust in ports, and high temperatures and dust in metallurgical environments can all affect equipment, therefore requiring all equipment to have coated plates.

Application Areas: Except for lower-end metallurgical bridge cranes (small and medium-sized products only use low-voltage electrical components), most other products use PLCs.
